The Rutten family has a history in pigeons racing for over 60 years. At thirteen, Theo Rutten became the General Champion of his club PV De Reisduif in Groesbeek.

Currently, Theo is taking care of the racing pigeons and his wife Tilly together with their son Raymond are ensuring that nothing is missing from the youngsters and that they are sent to the races well-prepared.

They compete under the name of THEO RUTTEN & SON, but the mother Tilly has an equal share in the success of the youngsters.

They have a loft with 10.5 meters, which is divided into three compartments for males and one for females. In addition, there is a 9 meter loft for breeding couples and youngsters. The front of the competition loft is is facing south east.

The colony of THEO RUTTEN & SON existed since 1958. Theo visited the world famous Janssen Brothers at the Schoolstraat in Arendonk on a regular base. From that time on Theo yearly bought a few pigeons from the "little men". He also took pigeons from Jules Wouters at Keerbergen (B.). This Jules Wouters used to have stock from the best pigeons of the Janssen Brothers. Of the best pigeons from Jules' stock offspring moved to Groesbeek.

Consequently, year after year it has remained at the top with its unique collection of pigeons by the Janssen brothers, Arendonk.

Last years Rutten invest in DIRECT VAN DEN BULCK pigeons that are easy pigeons to cross to make his loft even stronger.

1st NPO Dpt 8 St. Vincent (1056 km) against 2,424p;
2nd NPO Pont St. Maxence (365 km) against 23,469b.;
7th NPO National Peronne (293 km) against 12,718p;
8dt NPO Chantilly 2006 (378 km) against 15,000d;
9th NPO National Peronne (293 km) against 33,043b;
10th NPO National Offenburg against 3,514b.

After the loss of the Tilly Rutten (Mother of Raymond) the motivation was just as hard to find, but in recent years the thread was picked up again, the combination continued under the name Th. Rutten (Theo) and Zoon (Raymond) and Klz. (Max) great results were achieved, especially in the One Day Long Distance. In recent years, investments have been made in direct FLANDERS/DIRK VAN DEN BULCK, LEO HEREMANS, STEFAM LAMBRECHTS, PIPA BREEDING pigeons to give the loft a considerable quality boost, but unfortunately disaster struck again, Theo Rutten died in 2020. It was therefore no longer possible last season to to be able to fly from the lofts in Groesbeek. Raymond continued with his Romanian partner Fildan Vlad where below are a number of results from last year. Another focus of Raymond is the OLR within the last 2 years with great success and he will try to get good results on the largest OLR worldwide.
